say that love happens just once in a lifetime … But what happens when
you lose that one person who meant everything to you? While the
institution of marriage is known to bring two souls together in the most
beautiful union ever, can a second marriage become the glue that pieces
back the shards of two broken hearts to make them whole again? Even
today, the prospect of remarriage is a taboo across several parts of
India, with conservative sections of society still frowning at those who
dare to start a life with a new partner. What makes the re-marriage of Yash and Aarti even
more challenging is the fact that they are both parents to young
children. Will their children be able to come to terms with the idea of
having a new parent enter their lives? Will there be friction between
the two sets of children, resulting in complications between the
partners? Only time will tell!
Premiering on Monday, February 20 and airing every Monday-Friday at 10:30 PM, Punar Vivah is
a mature, progressive show that sensitively captures the journey of a
man and a woman, who having faced a debacle in their first attempts at
marriage, are brave enough to give life a second chance. The show delves
into the dynamics of re-marriage, showcasing the trials and
tribulations that are a part of re-adjusting to a second life partner.
When the man you called your soul mate leaves you for another woman, can
you possibly bring yourself to believe in the sanctity of marriage
again? After the woman you fell hopelessly in love with passes away,
crushing your every romantic dream, can you muster the courage to feel

Lending a rare intensity and depth to the male protagonist Yash is handsome actorGurmeet Chaudhary. His portrayal of the quiet, arrogant, widowed father of two has impressed everyone who has seen the rushes of the show. Kratika Sengar,
who blew your mind away as the sword-wielding Rani Laxmibai in Zee
TV’s historical drama Jhansi Ki Rani, charging away on horseback and
fighting with unmatched zeal for her soil, makes a comeback to the small
screen as Aarti, a woman who hasn't lost her spunk, charm or positivity despite a painful divorce.
Speaking of her role in the show, Kratika said,
“I have had the fortune of working with Zee TV before as Rani Laxmibai
on Jhansi Ki Rani and have received immense appreciation for the role.
Even today, people still recognize me as Jhansi Ki Rani in public
places, months after the show has gone off air. After having essayed
such a formidable historical figure, it’s very interesting to be playing
the mature role of a contemporary Indian woman Aarti who is the
mother of a young child and on the threshold of a re-marriage. The idea
of giving life a second chance and attempting to find happiness all over
again is what appealed to me the most. I’ll give the role my best shot
and I hope the audience accepts me as Aarti and gives me as much love as they did when I played Jhansi Ki Rani.”
Gurmeet said, "As a rather lively, mischievous chap who's up to some prank or the other most of the time, it is quite a challenge for me to play someone as intense, brooding, distant, cold and embittered as Yash. But that is what I believe acting is all about. As an actor, Punar Vivah is quite distinctly different from anything I have attempted so far. I am quite confident the viewers will find this new avatar of mine most intriguing!"
