Policies of UPA Government and hoped that new ways will be open for minorities in future.

NEW DELHI- Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Shri Rajeev Shukla pointed out that Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated as he was propagating secularism. He was speaking as Chief Guest in the Peace Conference and National Seminar on ‘Political tool for development of Muslims’ held in India International Centre Annexe, New Delhi by Aligarh based Millat Bedari Muhim Committee (MBMC) Aligarh, Jamia Urdu Aligarh, FMSA, Ingraham Institute Aligarh and The Aligarh Movement Magazine. He said that Gandhi never approved division of the country and the Congress has always professed secular policies and the Indian Muslims are truly secular, so that must support Congress.

Presenting key note address, eminent film director and social Activist Shri Mahesh Bhatt said that the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi was a loss to humanism. He said that the true tribute to him would be by supporting secular thoughts. He said that India may remain strong and united only by secular values and so the Congress should be supported.

Presiding over the seminar, Group Editor of Sahara Urdu Media, Shri Aziz Burney said that no political party can dream for power without support of Muslims. He said that on the day when Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated, the foundation of Hindu Rashtra was laid down. Director of NCPUL, Dr. M Hamidullah Bhat appreciated the policies of UPA Government and hoped that new ways will be open for minorities in future.

Director of Programme and Convener of Karvan-e-Bedari Jasim Mohammad that the time demands that every state of India should have a people friendly government and for that we have to extend support to the Congress. He told that a Karvan-e-Bedari will be brought out to make people aware about positive policies of Congress particularly to Muslims. Jasim Mohammad told that the ’Karvan’ will cover entire Uttar Pradesh particularly Muslim concentrated areas and will end on 28 February, 2012.

President of MBMC, Prof. Razaullah Khan, Prof. Humayun Murad, AMU Student Leader Iram Khan, OSD of Jamia Urdu Farhat Ali Khan and N. Jamal Ansari also expressed their views.
On the occasion the prestigious ‘Aligarh Movement Award – 2011’ was present to Aziz Burney for Urdu Journalism and Dr. M. Hamidullah Bhat for development of Urdu language by Mahesh Bhatt.
Concluding the programme Shri Rajeev Shukla & Mahesh Bhatt jointly flagged off ‘Karvan-e-Bedari’ which will travel to remote areas of Uttar Pradesh garnering support for the Congress Party.
The programme was conducted by Owais Jamal Shamsi while Dault Ram thanked the audience.
